These two photos are connected to one man: This is a real brain-teaser!
Hint: If you know what the logo above represents, you're halfway there...

One easy enough for me to lookup!

Aaron Burr

The old wooden water mains were used to bring fresh water to the City of New York in the early 19th century. Funding for the project came from the creation and sale of stock in the Manhattan Company founded by Aaron Burr (& others). In 1955 the Bank of Manhattan & Chase National Bank merged into Chase Manhattan Bank.

Hello Apple!

Full marks!

Now for extra credit:

1-What was the real reason to raise money for a bank of his own?

2-What does the logo represent?

3-What was Aaron Burr's relationship with the Chase family?

If you can answer these, I won't have to post a tome!

1. I was of the mind that it was to rival Hamilton's Federalist, central bank.
2. The Burr wooden water pipes.
3. He presided (impartially, it seems) over the impeachment of Salmon P. Chase, even though Pres. Jefferson wanted Chase's hide. As far as I can tell, the bank was later named after him, either in his honor or else to boost its status by having a former Secretary of the Treasury's name affixed.
